I began designing Tag Magazine in December of 2011. I got to have a lot of freedom designing for the magazine and along with the whole tag team we worked hard to bring SGF a new point of view.
Tag magazine focused on local SGF entertainment. TAG covered the people and events that were forsaken by others.
The displayed magazines to the right are some of my favorite additions of Tag Magazine. Sadly, Tag closed their doors in March 2014, but will forever be a part of this community. RIP TAG Media. I miss you.
Armory Art Center & Galleries
I began working with the Armory Art Center as an art instructor in 2011. My courses included Intro to Graphic Design & Fashion Illustration. I also worked as the instructor for an outreach program where students were guided to create their own online t-shirt design business. After seeing first hand what went into running an Art Center & exhibition galleries and how many artists they were able to help I began to work along side their marketing director to help develop a marketing campaign for the 25th Anniversary. Since then I have worked on a variety of projects for the Armory and it has been amazing to be such a big part of promoting so many well known Artists. The Armory has educated students, and exhibited works of art in more than 400
shows in the last 25 years. Visiting Master Artists from all over the United States have
taught special classes; the opportunity to hone their artistic skills
has been made available to more than 30 Artists-In-Residence, promising
young artists given the opportunity to create a body of work while
teaching. The Armory Art Center provides high quality art instruction to
the community in many media. It serves a diverse cultural and
cross-generational student body.
Your personal invitation sets the tone for your whole event. It's the first impression you make and it's what gets people excited about your occasion! So, why use an invite that so many many others have used before you?
So many of the invitations and accompanying wedding sets that arrive in your mailbox are uninspired and predictable. By combining my professional background and artistic abilities I am able to create never-before-seen custom designs that truly
reflect your style and vision.
I work intimately with every client, to create personalized paper accents
for every detail of an occasion, imprinting the story and personality
of each event. I take care of all the envelopes, reply cards, and the printing so all you have to do is wait for them to arrive at your doorstep! It's that easy!
Armory Gallery Exhibitions
The Armory Art Galleries have displayed many works from artists all over the world. These are the direct mailers I created for some of these exhibitions. The look of many of these is clean and contemporary, letting the artwork stand out as if you are seeing it on the gallery wall. These are just some of my favorite exhibitions. Blogging is in my blood. It flows through me like a rushing river caring with it new ideas and new life. Spotting trends is something I happen to be really good at. (If I do say so myself.) I was trained by some of the best trend forecasters in the world through my education in Paris. I think of myself as a visual sponge collecting bits and pieces of imagery throughout my life, ready to implement them into my visual storyline. You can see my complete blog here.
Qdoba Mexican Grill is a franchise with locations all over the United States. There business model and concept is simple but strong. They engage their customers and communities with quality branding and equally quality food. When I was asked to design materials for online and print promotion I jumped at the chance. Working with a brand that has had a significant amount publicity and has a strong presence in the community means as a designer you have to build on their current visual presence but also give them something new and different. Qdoba is a fun brand that cares about the marketing and design and it has been a pleasure to work along side these foodie trend setters!
Designing a strong logo is both exciting nd challenging. I believe that a good logo should be able to stand alone as an all black design. (Think of it as having good bones.) It should be classic and stand the test of time all while setting the tone for the business of your dreams. Start your business off on the right foot with a logo designed by sugarkane! I have been involved in many different community projects over the years. I really enjoy giving back to my community and offering my design services is one way I can contribute in a worth while way. Seeing what a group of talented free thinkers can bring to local charities and youth programs has always excited me. There is nothing better than giving back and having fun doing it! These projects range from benefit concerts, charity balls, festivals, to fashion shows and art shows.

As your designer I will take care of all your wedding print material needs and have them shipped directly to your home! I can create just about anything you could dream up! I have done everything from whimsical wedding invites to rustic handmade invites on handmade paper. Need programs, menus, table numbers, or a custom cake topper? No problem! Why pay for an invite that everyone else has already used when I can create you custom keepsakes that will last a lifetime?
Successful websites use strategy, usability, and insight to win over their consumers and provoke them to purchase. It's important to understand this before beginning your own website adventure. I specialize in portfolio sites and blogging sites but also can design and then outsource larger commercial sites as well. These are 3 of my favorite websites I have done, along with my own site of course!
These label designs were created for a new Brewery located in Jupiter Florida. The beer is a complex and rich porter. It comes in at 7.7% ABV and is dark brown in color with a robust, alluring aroma. Best enjoyed after a session of killer waves or for a different kind of session while surfing channels on the couch. Created for Anheuser Busch by Master Brewer 555.
My background in fashion is still a big part of my design life. I love pattern and color and what better way to experiment with both then creating custom fashion illustrations? Fashion and design are connected in so many ways. Being aware of trends in fashion and color makes my job as graphic designer so much easier. It's important as a designer to follow market trends and this is one way I keep up! Hope you enjoy them!
My illustration technique varies depending on the project. I am very attached to hand drawn techniques, however I usually make them digital at some point in the process. Using a combination of hand drawn and digital techniques allows me to play with color palettes and background patterns and gives me more freedom during the whole process. This is an area where I am able to be true to my own artistic intuition and just let go. Many of my illustrations are available for purchase here.
